After hearing of the newly introduced Destroyer of Worlds, Annihilator of Worlds design. I thought, maybe there should be more designs other than the 2 already implemented.

I think to start off with there should be new designs for Warmaster ships and Arena ships as seeing the same old piranhas, gladiators etc gets a little boring and bland. These designs will be purely for decoration.

There could be more than 1 design for each ship so the player can choose which one they prefer to make the seas more colourful and creative. There could also be designs that come with animations to further lighten things up.

For Warmaster ships, normal designs will cost 2500 skulls, animated designs for 5000 and these will only be available during Skull and Bones event along with Stolen Bloods etc. The cost is subject to change, this is just an approximation.

In terms of designs for Arena ships, they will similarly have a variety of choices including both normal and animated designs. These ship designs will be rewards from reaching certain a rank at the end of a season similar to how you get the DoW design.

Devastator designs available from the 1v1 arena.

So for 1v1 at the end of each season: the top 10 receive the same design; top 11-100 get a different 3 design; and the top 101-200 have another design. But there are also other designs for purchase requiring arena points and costing diamonds.

Gladiator designs available from the 2v2 arena.

For 2v2 it will be slightly different as there are less positions. So at the end of each season the top 3 have a design, top 4-10, 11-50. Designs can also be purchased for arena points costing diamonds.

For all Arena designs requiring certain rank, if you win the design you have to wait another 2 season to win another and your rank won't count towards the ranking for determining which design you get. But 1v1 is separate from 2v2, so if you win a design from 1v1 but not 2v2 this season, next season you cannot win another 1v1 design but you can for 2v2.

What do you guys think about this idea?
Any queeries or suggestions are very welcome.

  2. Bigpoint did a similar thing on SeaFight. You could earn certain shells to decorate your ship with and were not stuck with that design--you could change back and forth as they were only decorative.

Costing skulls is a good idea---even for a devastator and an ahab :p

On another game I played, Dragons of Atlantis, they had contests for players to write back stories as well as create the designs of new dragons or troops. Might liven things up a bit to do something like that here. The entries were posted in forums and voted on with no one knowing who posted them until the end of voting which usually lasted a few days.

The Seafight model is good one, they should abandon Seafight with its poor graphics and impossible gameplay without playing like $500 and start advertising and developing Pirate Storm (the better game of the two).

  4. I really like the sea glitters--would be so awesome if Pirate Storm had them on night seas--and not just unclaimed boxes, actual glitters. If there are unclaimed boxes, you have to put your lamps on to see them at

Yes we need a variation of sea glitters, instead of just boxes from killing npcs and monsters.

  6. We need sea glitters, yes! something out on the ocean that does not require a hit--its just there. Make it on the night sea so they are pretty :)

Ooo--could make it that every so often a glitter *takes* something from you, too--like harps or gold. Most of the time you get stuff but sometimes the other way, sort of a sea-faye perversion like mermaids. Never know when a mermaid is going to turn on you :D
