  1. Hey guys, as an experienced user of games, I would like to give a review of the new update to enlighten u.

Graphics and Design: When u enter the shipyard the ship information tab is extended and holds information about which item sets you currently hold and items/item effects on your ship. A new option is that you can transport items around to other ships in a new ''loadout'' system. Honestly it looks okay and the extended tab lies in harmony with the other tabs and dosent stand out. The design is simple and clean, it looks alot like your inventory, so not much else to say.

Effect on Gameplay: First of all, I must say that it is interesting that BP implants this function... alone (changing loadout). In my experience, in other RPG games this function has worked as a shortcut to change playstyle. With other words, it gives the opportunity to change your available items and skills to fit in a given scenario. Here in pirate Storm with the items available there is only very little variation in playstyle. Making the new function less useful. In combat its very hard to notice the difference between the sets because they are more or less balanced (the two new sets). BUT.. the already existing sets seem somewhat stronger making the ''change loadout'' function even lesser useful, because who wants to downgrade. With that said, the function may be used from time to time to change from fast farmer ship to ''slow'' pvp ship. Personally I wouldn't use it to change around two loadouts when I know one loadout is better or if I only have one loadout. One of the main reasons is the price.

Generally: Price and update size vs. time
Now to the good part. The price. The price is insane. To create a new loadout, it costs 10k diamonds and next time it costs the unholy amount of 25k diamonds. As I said before the sets are somewhat balanced, so to change to a new loadout + new set it would cost around 100k diamonds + 10k to get slightly better. If the set is better, why use 10k to make a new slot for the better set and hold onto your old downgraded items like the normal inventory? for that money it costs to get a new set + loadoutslot I could have brought 3 normal games on sale.

And why for gods sake do a 3rd loadout cost 25k? It can be discussed that 2nd loadout is fair to have, but 3rd for 25k? and for 4 slots, guess what, 50.000 diamonds. A little more realistic price would be first loadout for 2 million gold and the 4 next loadout slots for 10k diamonds - to get players to buy more items?

In short: for the effect vs price, I would strongly not recommend to buy more than 1 loadout or even 1 loadout slot at all.

Its nice to see a new function in the game, but to wait 6-7 months for a overpriced function, that has *somewhat of a use* in the game as it is now. Not what I expected. It is not a wise decision to make it overpriced, but its better than nothing and it opens some doors for future updates (alternative sets). It should have come with something else and the update is very small if you compare to the time the development have had. Therefore the semi bad rating.

    Rating:

    2 out of 5 stars.

  3. I honestly can't comprehend the devs, they take this long to bring out a new feature, and its not even that great of a thing. In my opinion, they need to be focusing on what the players want and not cash grabs. We do know BPs track record with these things....more likely to see a unicorn or pigs fly than BP listening to the players... It's not even that its a cash grab that annoys me, it's the fact it is a bad cash grab.
