Player Rankings in Arena

I am getting conflicting information from "seasoned players" about Arena rankings and winning the D.O.W. The Arena Ranking tables show both "Team" and "Player" ranks for 1vs.1, 2vs.2, and 3vs.3. In the 1vs.1 only one player is allowed on the 1vs.1 team.

The rankings for the "Team" considers both the number of Wins and the number of Losses, so a team can be ranked at the top with very few Wins. The Player ranking is based simple on total number of wins.

There are players who claim that only the wining "Team" rank is considered in who wins a D.O.W. from the 1vs.1 arena. There are other players who believe that the "Player" with the highest rank at the end of the season in 1vs.1 wins a D.O.W, and those who think both #1 rankings win. What is the truth?

If it is only the top "Team" in 1vs.1 I think that at least in 1vs.1, where the player and the "Team" are the same player, the top "Player" should also win. (Right now the top Player has 372 wins, but the top Team has only 115 wins.) If only the top "Team" is counted for the win, why are the Players ranked differently?

If you are asking what the difference is between team rankings and player rankings in arena;

Whilst a team remains set in stone, players can leave their current team and form a new team. This means that as a player you start climbing the rankings board again playing lower ranked opponents who are in arena, again, before paired with higher ranked teams who are in arena. The player rankings are not the same as the team rankings due to this.

The D.O.W is awarded currently to top team. If the top player is also on the top team then it will be awarded based upon the fact that player is on the top team.

Players cannot switch Teams in 1vs.1 It still makes no sense to even have Player ranking based on a different criteria, if the ranking is worthless.

 

Players can leave their 1v1 team. This is done by clicking the red leave button located in the arena 'team' window under the 1v1 section.
