Player Rank in Arena and D.O.W.

    The Criteria for winning a DOW, I was just told, is to have the best Team Score at the end of the season. That score uses a formula (not published?) that factors number of wins and number of losses (not just the percent of wins). The Arena Rankings show both a Team rank and a Player rank. The Player Rank is based on total wins only. I have been told the top player does not win a DOW, even in the 1 v 1 arena, Only the top team score wins. I have also been told the top Player does win a DOW. Which is true?

    If the top players do not win a D.O.W., why bother to Rank the Players differently from the Team?

    I think it would be better to award a DOW to the top Teams as well as the top Players, but how they are awarded seem to be a point of confusion.
