not getting free ships

I was working on the maps until i heard they were stopping the discounts and maps so therefore i will never spend money on this game now because of this please fix it on a side note i was going to buy a diamond pack but not now because of your rip off

 

You know this whole event was spelled out carefully in the event FAQ. The first 10 days were discount maps and after that it is maps for items and such

Fred_Filthy is correct. This is how the event was planned. To recap; for the first ten days the event bonus maps provided a discount each day toward either ship, after these 10 days if sucessfully played the ships could be aquired for a 100% discount (costing 0 diamonds). Then three bonus maps are made available to be run continuously until the end of the event.

is there a way for me to get a good ship with having to spend any money

 

Yes, all ships in game can potentially be obtained without spending money. By farming gold and diamonds or sinking players for skulls you could aquire any ship.

I was able to get the Icegard, Iceburg deck, Might of Winter 3-piece set, and a Guild deck. All for free, by farming diamonds, completing quests, and finishing achievement treasure chests. All it takes is time and a lot of effort. Manage (don't spend any if possible) your diamonds well and you can have a decent ship in no time
The next event ship will be the Churning Envy. You can get it for free as well. I think some of the maps use special harpoons, so you will want to upgrade your harpoon launchers and have enough diamonds to buy the special harpoons and the deck (not sure of the name or price) that goes with the ship. Try to buy the special harpoons and deck during (assuming they have these during the event) Fully Loaded Ammo & Fully Loaded Improvements, as those days you are able to buy the ammo and deck for half price.

If you want to get ahead of the game for February's event you can start by collecting Cupid's arrow ammo from the Black-Ice Ballad bonus map for the rest of December.

If I remember correctly you need this ammo to kill monsters in some of the Valentine's event maps.
