What do you think about night and day seas?

  1. Yes, good idea, lets have day/night on the COMBINED servers

  2. No way, I get killed by NPCs all the time when it is daylight.

  1. You know when the servers are combined there will be people playing during times that are not daylight for them real time.

    Why not make night seas?

    Ships will have lamps to light up the area somewhat around them, but, mostly reduced visibility.

    Will make fighting interesting. You could put out your lamps and hunt the players ships who are lit up--and run the chance of running aground on an island or running into a monster.

    With your lamps off though, you can see the glitter jewels just under the surface and they have diamonds and other treasures (like BP has in Seafight).

    After sinking any ships, you have to have your lamps on to pick up boxes unless it is a full moon.

    Yes, the moon phases will be the same for each night sea that they are in real time.

    There will be different monsters at night as well--an entirely different bunch than what is there during the day. Get creative BP. Let creatures out at dusk, night, and dawn that are rare right now--use the colossus (at dusk the stone statue comes alive from the depths), disappearing dragon (full moon dragon) and the hydras (new moon monsters that shoot acid) as templates.

    If it is night when your guild is struck, the fortress, towers and your ship lights will be your only light during new moons and crescents--think about that.

    You could hybrid your monsters for night attacks too---a guild could earn different defending monsters.

    This is an interesting idea but when the servers merge, players will be from various time zones; so when is it evening in the UK its morning or afternoon elsewhere.

    I think it would be a better option to turn this idea into a series of new zones, so people have the option to explore or not to explore.

  3. Actually, I've been suggesting new zones, at least five more---33-34-35-36-37 could have night and day alternating every 3-4 hours as a new thing.

    Or, heck, add five new zones with more nefarious monsters but make ALL zones go every 4 hours from night to day.

    We definitely need more ominous monsters/npcs.

    A a unique zone with very high hp like 500,000 where the rewards are split according to how much damage you deal would be really cool, and as a bonus this involves more of a PvE gameplay with teamwork to balance out the heavy focus on PvP gameplay in the game.

  5. The rewards split among players in a group evenly too--this way even lower level players could kill a monster in these zones. the last player's harpoon that kills it gets the exp points and any extra items that were part of a quest fulfillment.

    New zones 33-40. Even better, you have to figure out a puzzle or some such to unlock the passageway to that zone--and your whole group can go with you. actually using your brain about something would stop the big guns/bought accounts from taking over those zones :p
