    Ahoy Pirates,
The next New Moon Raffle (January 1st, 2013) will be the last to pay out a prize in euros. After this raffle, the New Moon Raffle prize will be paid out in diamonds. To make things worthwhile, every doubloon with be offset with 1,000 diamonds.

    Have fun getting doubloons!

    Your Pirate Storm Team

hmmmmm.... are you not mening 2014???

and so I think 1000 diamonds are a bit cheap
    2000 doubloon is 2,000,000 diamant.

but if you get payt in Euros:

when for 2000 euros you can get around 12,000,000 diamants

or you should draw more Winners!!!

  2. that is cheap
1 doubloons st lest 5000 diamonds

that way it is close to be the same

Yes sorry for the mistake, it is 2014

  4. Are the US-Players allowed to collect doubloon and win that diamonds aswell? It shouldnt be against the us-law I think.

  5. Pimp in some states they have bans on online gambling. Which makes nonsense because your not risking anything so it can't be called gambling.

  6. Well I can tell you this right now you might want to recheck the online gambling laws because now Illinois it allowed to do it and I also think now it is diamonds being won i think everyone should be allowed to be able to do this I don't see how it is gambling anymore cause we are not gambling any cash

  7. ya exactly, now that we're getting in-game currency it shouldn't be considered gambling

  8. To enlight this discussion. I have asked several ppl at the german support. What they told me is, that it is still not allowed to collect and win that dubloons. It doesnt matter that you're just winning ingame currency and not risking anything.
I think BP just dont want to risk anything to break any laws of any country.
But thats what it is. It won't be allowed with the new system either. Sry for that bad info :(

    one winner = 1 doubloon = 1000 diamonds ,

    suggestion is ?
other users might have options of choosing ? to exchange ? or wait for next raffle

those who wish to win raffle, keep doubloons & try for 1000 diamond per doubloon ?

user who thinks of exchanging at very low, price ?
i.e, he can be given option of 1 doubloon = into diamonds to all users,
or wait for raffle & win heap of diamonds

[ The exchange amount can be decided by big-point ? 50 diamond or 100 diamond ]
so, that we can exchange doubloons to diamonds ?
so that most users in game gets benefited

with huge scrolls of power & captain orders,
these doubloon exchange, will help a little bit

This thread makes me want to cry.

The idea to give diamond rewards instead of cash without including the prohibited countries residents as a part of that change is mind bogelIng.

I still think there should be a winner on each server.
Now where its diamonds you win and not money.
it will not cost BP anything

  12. Now that the lottery is paid in game currency and not in hard currency, it is no longer illegal in any of the US states that previously might have considered it gambling. Who could we contact in Bigpoint to rectify this and allow all players to participate in the lottery?

The raffle is still a form of Gambling by the way regardless if money is transferred or not.

  14. Does that not make the auction house a form of gambling too?

  15. i agree mac this is fixed, you want me to gamble and im happy to, however this falls under nothing wagered nothing gained

Auction is bidding for a item with either gold or diamonds, the New Moon Lottery is entering a raffle and being picked as a winner, they are different.

  17. My previous game has a Fortuna raffle as well, odds against winning anything of value is pretty much zero, but it is not considered gambling because nothing of value was risked---the game gave you the Fortuna tickets at no cost or trade in value of anything of your own. Much as this game gives doubloons.

In order for you to have gambling you must not only have the possibility of winning something but also of losing something you risked--your "wager". For raffles in real life, you buy tickets and thus risk the loss of the cost of the ticket. In casinos you risk your entry money in poker, or in feeding the slot machines.

Gambling involves risk---that is inherent in the definition of gambling either legal, religious, or in common usage but the New Moon Raffle has no risk in any way shape or form. This is an entertainment game solely.

So, again, where should I send my email to get this corrected?

  18. The dictionary defines gamble as follows: to stake or risk money, or anything of value, on the outcome of something involving chance.

We are not risking anything of value for the outcome of something involving chance. We are shooting NPCs, picking up doubloons and randomly getting picked to win a certain amount of in-game currency.

Without the players risk of losing anything of value, how does BP consider this "Gambling"???

Fluffkins, if you can give me a legitimate answer as to why US players can not participate, I will won't post anything about how BP needs to start using their damn brain, but answers like "The raffle is still a form of gambling", will not cut it.

Show me a US law that prohibits US players from entering this contest.

BP is being un-fair to the US players, stiffing them like always and it needs to be fixed.

BigPoint is bound by laws. The raffle is classed as gambling and as such, BigPoint is bound by laws to exclude any country that has Gambling Laws. I am sorry but we can't go around the law.

And the US is not the only affected country by this.
