Map Pieces Issue

According to info, there is 19% chance of getting a Map Piece.

Well i filled all my lower 3 bonus maps (Bloody Hook, Black Rum, and Shooting Match) and i started to fill up Voodoo Map from 0 pieces onwards.

Voodoo Skull has 128 map pieces.

for 50 diamonds per dives it took me about 71 000 diamonds to fill up the Vodoo map completely.

which means i did about 71 000 / 50 = 1420 dives.
128 Map Pieces / 1420 dives = 9 % Map Piece Chances

So instead of 19% chance in getting a map pieces i am actually getting 9% chance.

Is this how it's supposed to be? How much diamonds do you guys have to spend to fill up voodoo map? Or is it just a bug in my account? Please advise.

 

To the best of our knowledge the diver feature functions as it should.

The Diver window description states that you have a 19% chance per dive to receive a map piece. This means that each dive is counted individually. If you use one dive you have 19% to receive a map piece and 81% chance to receive other things for that one dive. Then you dive again and for that new dive you have 19% chance to get a map piece and still an 81% chance to get other things. On the per dive scale the odds are much greater (81%) of receiving something other than a map piece. It is not describing 19% of all dives, it is a 19% chance on each individual dive.

Still it doesn't make sense that on the average i am getting 9% chance instead of 19%. This is basic probability ...

Wedgewood, what you've said doesn't add up.

 

From your description you are getting a 9% rate of return across your total number of dives. This does not equate to a 19% chance per (each individual) dive. For example one could dive repeatedly with each chance per dive failing to result in a map piece. This would also not equate to 19% of all dives being map pieces at the end of your dive session but the statement 19% chance per dive would still hold true as this was the percentage chance used in the calculation each time you used a dive.
