Dive 19%?

In a recent post you said that dive gives you 19% of map pieces. I keep record of my dives and i always get a 10% of map pieces. Is there a miss information about the actual percentage of map pieces?? If not then i am missing a lot lot of map pieces.

I am citing what is stated in the help section of the Dive screen in game. Note that it is described as a chance per dive. This percentage is not describing the rate at which you definitively receive map pieces, it outlines the chance per dive of doing so. Additionally, you should factor in the jokers you receive when diving as these are in replacement for dive pieces you already have.

Software based random number generators are notoriously not random. And if they are relying on a standard generator from their compiler library it is almost certainly going to skew in various ways. If you are trending very low (like I am) on map pieces you may want to wait for the next server reboot since it will restart with a different seed.

 

At general tag i have 629 dives counted in the achievement. Not as many as you guys have but i have so far 20 pieces or yellow 15 of green 11 of red and 11 of the blue. Thats a total of 57 map pieces in 629 dives. Thats 9% of map pieces diving nothing close to the stated 19%. Even if joker is a replacement for map pieces you have i understand for people that keep the 3 maps closed to get jokers and not map pieces and have less than 19% but me with none map closed and with a 9%???

 

I do agree that 10% seems to be a more realistic reflection of reality.

 

For your problem I have noticed that in day of half price dives the drop rate is very low.For example in regular day of good drop I get about 1-2 pieces whit 10 dives.But in days of half price dives whit 10 dives it is really hard to get 2 peices map.So I think the dives are a lot of luck not a 19%.So good luck to everybody.

I have also an idea but I really don't know if it's true...
But it could be like this: You have 19% to receive a map piece, so that means you have approximately 5% to receive piece of each of the maps. And if you should receive a piece of a map you have already completed the choosing is annulled and done again. So if you have all three maps completed and dive only for a voodoo you have 15% chance to do it recursively again. That leads to approximately 8% to receive a voodoo piece.

 

The description is that you have a 19% chance per dive to receive a map piece. This means that each dive is counted individually. If you use one dive you have 19% to receive a map piece and 81% chance to receive other things for that one dive. Then you dive again and for that new dive you have 19% chance to get a map piece and still an 81% chance to get other things. On the per dive scale the odds are much greater (81%) of receiving something other than a map piece. It is not describing 19% of all dives, it is a 19% chance on each individual dive.

Well but it should be the same if you dive for enough times True is that guildfarm can just be unlucky. Is that what you try to imply?
