Deep Sea Diver and Bonus Maps Question

    So, on the deep sea diver menu it says the chances of getting a bonus map piece is 19%. If I only wanted to farm the voodoo skull bonus map and I had collected all the pieces to the other bonus maps, would my chances of getting a voodoo skull map piece still be 19%?

    Basically, can I keep the other maps fully collected but not used to increase my odds at getting voodoo skull pieces?

    If you have the other 3 bonus maps completed with map pieces (Bloody Hook, Black Rum, Shooting Match) then you will only receive the Voodoo Skull map pieces when diving as the others have been filled already.

    DrNasty, when you are diving with the first 3 maps filled, when the coding for the diving says that you receive a map piece, since all the other maps are filled, you will only receive VooDoo Skull pieces, thus increasing the speed of filling VooDoo.

    All I can say with certainty is that my map piece collection rate over the past 2900 dives has stayed consistent at ~10.66%. I have never experienced 17% or 19%(I've heard both as the "official" rate). Only over a very short period have I ever seen that. Of course I've seen 2-3% for some periods of time. But my long term average is still steady at 10.66%.

    And it is definitely very advantageous to keep the other 3 maps unused at all times.

    Awesome! Thanks for the info guys, I was tempted to use the bloody hook map I've got but now I'll definitely wait it out. Gonna take a while to fill them all for the first time, but it looks like it's worth it.

    Definitely wait it out to fill all maps first and think REAL hard before ever doing the first three. You are better off just doing voodoo more often. Also, not a bad thing that it takes a while to get the voodoo map for the first time. It is real tough unless you have pretty decent weaponry and HP. It is wave after wave of NPCs.
