Do items such as Bora Figurehead and Eagle Set that both give minus cannon scatter stack, or do you only get benefit from one of them?

  2. Well the eagle set includes a firgurehead if you want full soo..you have to replace the bora with the eagle set figurehead

  3. but since the Eagle set figurehead has exactly the same properties a the Bora it doesn't really matter and yes they stack. So if you have the Eagle set you will have a total of 22% reduced scatter from the set.

    Hi,

Thank you Fred_Filthy and _Redemption_ for your help. All improvements have an influence on the ship upon which they are placed. One improvement's stats do not cancel out the influence of another to the best of my knowledge. If you have two improvements with complimenting stats then they will be combined together in some way depending on the type of stat they enhance.

Is there anything else we can help you with? :)

  5. Question.. if you have -22% scatter from improvements and set bonuses and use only eagle cannons.. would you consistently hit for the same amount? Assuming things like captains orders, armor plates and any other buffs are not in play.

The influence of scatter-reducing improvements can be found Here in the F.A.Q section of the forums. :)

  7. Ahh I see.. thanks, now I understand. A bit misleading though. Maybe the description needs to be reworded.

It's -22% scatter on the scatter amount per cannon. If you have 100% scatter -10% scatter would give you 90% scatter.
If you have 50% scatter and -10% scatter would give you 45% scatter.
    Correct?

I will briefly outline the process below.

Firstly, it's important to note, when you have both a Figurehead and a set bonus buff with cannon scatter stats these two scatter stats are not added together first but applied to the Cannon's scatter separately producing two separate scatter bonuses. Both bonuses are then added together and applied to the Cannon's scatter again to produce the final scatter used when firing.

For the example we will use an Eagle Cannon (scatter: 20%) on a ship with a Tonatiuh Figurehead (scatter: -10%) and Eagle set bonus (scatter: -12%)

    Process:

    1. The figurehead's scatter stat is applied to the cannon's scatter to produce one scatter bonus (scatter bonus 1).

ex. Cannon scatter x figurehead buff = scatter bonus 1
    20..............X.........10%........=...........2

    2. The set's bonus scatter stat is applied to the same cannon to produce a second scatter bonus (scatter bonus 2).

ex. Cannon scatter x Set bonus buff = scatter bonus 2
    20............X......12%...........=......2.4

    3. Both these numbers (bonus1 & bonus2) are then added together and subtracted from the cannon's scatter to produce the final scatter used when firing that cannon.

ex. Cannon scatter - (set bonus 1 + set bonus 2) = New cannon scatter
    20.........-......( 2.........+........2.4 ).......=........15.6%

I hope this was of help. :)

  9. But would it not be 10% and 12% subtracted away from the 20% scatter of the eagle cannon. So it would be -2% scatter? o_O. Or is the 20 "%" scatter just "20 Scatter"??

I'm afraid this is not how it functions ie. both scatters being combined prior to being deducted from the Cannon's scatter. My outline is based upon what is stated in the F.A.Q. Feel free to read Here for a break-down of how scatter is calculated. :) The final scatter is a percentage chance as you state above.
