    So ive heard that the wins quest does not require wins for the medals. But it wont give me credit for winning. So why are other people getting credit for just winning but not me?

    The new 'Champion of the battle' quest only requires you to be on the winning team in Battlegrounds, you do not need to win a medal for it to count towards the quest.
