While the guild deck and the idea of a bonus to the guilds that do their best is tempting the implementation in the form of top10 was and IS a huge failure.

while are many people have said and it is needed to talk separately the game serious have problems,of not providing lists of the items of the game. Ships?? Improvements??? Thanks to the workshop at least now we have a list of harpoon launchers and cannons. Thats not the case with the guild deck.

From very early in the game the players, realize its existence and then get psychotic to get it. And there is where the implementation ruined the game. Limiting the guilds only to 10 is an absolute barrier that does not take into account how many guilds play the game.

As everything in this game, the first player that entered the game, made the oldest guilds, and due only that they played more than the others, their accounts were the strongest and their guilds the strongest. So from the very first months of the game the top 10 was started to bbe formed and halted to specific few.

Since the allies are 5 you have alliances of 6 guilds. So in eu4 the top10 was solo for 2 alliances that clash 12 guilds for 10 places. Leaving everyone else out of the game. Either you were in the club or you were out.

That give an apparel power to this 12 guilds. And they used. So when a player become medium to strong he started getting recruit offer from the big guilds. Which most of the times was a success, and so suddenly 1 small guild that finally was starting to shape up a little had their best players removed. This is most cases was enough to destroy the small guild out of existence. With the rest players either leaving the guild for another one, or simple quitting the game all together.

I remember eu4 with 6000 active people daily, i remember to have 70 or more islands playing and having a range of points depending of their power. And what happened to all of these people?? All these enthusiasm for the game?? Crashed by top 10. Soon the people realized that the game was made only for 12 guilds and their goal was to be in one of them, which was not possible. That was a disappointment and start the clock clicking for the abandonse of the game.

Instead of an artificial hard limit of 10 that destroys the game , we need a percentage of guilds to be consider TOP GUILDS and win the prices. For every active guild 1/3 or in worse case 1/4 of them will be consider top guild and unlock the reward. Because most of the time the number will not be round, the company needs to round the number up and not down as it does in many cases.

    ACTIVE GUILD
we need a monthly points for the guild. every day at midnight the points of the guild will be checked and added to the monthly points. In the exact way it is down now for the monthly pvp points, exactly at midnight. A guild to be consider active will have to gather 75000 points during the months. Thats 30 days x 2500 points = 75.000

Thats not a fictional number, but based on the mechanics of the game. That will mean that the guild played the islands and was able at least to build guild letters during the whole month, a guild having 2499 points every day it is the same with a guild having 0 points and not playing at all, because for islands wise they both will be able to build nothing.

I strongly suggest that 1/3 (1/4 if the company is greedy but it is too stretch) of the islands to be consider top guilds and get the reward. Now you have a flexible and expandable system for the game, that the more players and guild you have the more can reward, and thus it will not limit the growth of the game, population wise.

The game needs to be flexible in rewards if they want to revive it. Keeping stupid limits only hurts the company because the game is playable by few and sooner or later the game population reaches the playable levels.

Just check the thousands of islands made, and how small life span they had, and even worse how limited presence in playing islands. If you want thousands to play the game you need hungreds of guilds, which you can not have as long as you keep top 10

  2. I am wondering if 10 guilds is already 1/3 or 1/4 of the total of active guilds. On some servers, the top 1/3 of guilds may only be 3 or 4 :( On at least one server, I don't think there are any active guilds.

My recommendation would be the top 10% of the guilds, but again, if there are only 20 active guilds on a server, there would be only 2 guilds who would get decks and paladins.

That must have been some serious gaming--6000 people on the server at any time!

I don't think there are that many active players in all the servers combined now, yet Bigpoint doesn't want to consolidate all the accounts onto one server. Either they are going to discontinue the game of they think we will buy items to shoot NPCs.

    the best is 1/3
it can work with 1/4 more or less
anything else than that will not work for this game
because you will have many many guilds doomed never to get the guild deck and they people will stop playing, and the small guilds being abandon one after another.

we need not all to get the deck, but if guild work not an impossible target to be obtained.
the impossible top10 of now destroyed the game

6000 was not at any time it was the players at whole day
but there was a time byrades had 100+ ship any given time
kanassa had 50 + ships any given time
and in all other maps there was 10-20 ships farming

at last now that the company heard my recomendation and guild letter 50 gives some experience
the bullies from byrades have grown up and left and now you go to byrades and see new players
before that you went to byrades and there was noone thanks to the bullying

impossible targets do not make the game more agressive
they do not make more money to the company
they make the people stop playing because they can not reach them

make the targets plausible and people will play
impossible and you have the graveyard called piratestorm of today

  4. A bit over two years ago I started this game on euro1 and I remember one of the first events I saw was where you had to kill a certain number of monsters in certain zones--and those zones were packed! Had to be at least 50-60 players trying to kill those monsters in each of the zones and there were other players who figured, "to heck with it, we aren't going to get it done now" and were sinking players left and right and getting buckets of skulls.

I had just left a battle game that had died--few people playing anymore. When I saw all these players in PS, I thought I had gone to heaven.

Yeah, I remember Byrades! Actually, that was were I got the skulls to get my piranha--I was hanging out invisible in port and waiting till some almost dead player came full speed in. Then I'd sink them and get sunk myself several times, but, I got the piri, bulkheads and deck in two days. Biggest disappointment was when I had leveled up too much to play there. Now when we do the port wars in other zones, its not really a melee--its exchanging skulls.

    I REALLY miss melees.

in 1 event that you had to kill monsters at the beginning of the event all people were logged in and rush to the specific zone
from 1 corner to the other corner you could not see the water. yes there were so many ships there there was a sea of ships and you hardly saw any blue. something many players will never live to see

when i started playing byrades from 1 corner to the other was on fire. ships in every part of the map shooting each other. you are attacking about the port, i have lived it in the whole map corner to corner.

many times in kanasa the port war lasted hours and when i mean hours i mean in 8 hours or more
sometimes if i had the gold i stayed all that time some time, i stayed first 2, closed pc went out for walk, return to find the war going on
    and i joined in

there were people, many find the game interesting,
bad designs and decisions in the game just made unplayable for the majority of the players and the led to a great exodus.

top10 guilds and the guild deck, dow, pvp thats is haunted, bullying in byrades
is the biggest design flows in the game that limit it to a lower player count

as long as the game stays as is, there can not be any revive of the game, the company does not need horde of players playing a game and leaving it with very bad impressions, proof the last post of many ex players in the forum before they give up, the company needs to realize all this restrictions limit the players that can play the game and the game will be playable for all.

if the company likes, the current numbers of players by all means there is no need for any change, but if the company wants more players then the game needs to stop being monolithic and be expandable, the goal and rewards need to expand according to the palyers playing to accommodate them, a fix number pulled out form nowhere because it sounds nice IT IS NOT WORKING,

it is an MMORG the essence of this kind of games is a guild. in the same concept of the category of the game you tried to build you shoot yourself in the foot with the top 10 guilds. while the strong guilds will still occupy and haunt the first places of the ranking, the huge difference will be that the game will be open and playable for all.

now guild deck acts as a force of destructions for the game, not as a motive for people to play and try their best. 1/3 of the active guilds will be the best ratio to ensure, that there will be enthusiasm across the board. and we talk about active guilds that means there will be weak guilds that will play the islands but will fail to be considered active, thats why the 1/3 will work the best, because it will take into consideration and the other guilds that will fail;. So with 1/3 of active guilds that will lead more or less to a ratio 1/4 of guild playing the islands. but anyway 1/3 or 1/4 of active guilds will give a motivations for the guilds to play, the more guilds play the more unlcok the rewards, unlocking the guild deck will not be a fantasy, WILL BE PLAUSIBLE

  6. It is going to take both making things a bit easier--such as the top 1/4 guilds AND getting more people to play somehow because having a guild deck and a fully developed ship is not any fun unless you have someone to war with. Players do not spend time and money to shoot NPCs in this game---need more players.

Player to player is the only way this game will survive--make it a bit easier to develop ships and promote the game to get more player beginners. I brought 20 gamers over from my old battle game, most stayed only one day because the game is boring when you start out and takes so long before you can really do much. click-boom-pick up-boxes is not exactly exciting nor a challenge.

the problem for 1 day staying people
was that in the past you enter the limited pvp zones and you found normal players as you
so you start to kill them to get their skulls
and the pvp kicked in and the fun begin

but then we had an unbelievable bulling with players staying artificial level 25 to welcome new players at byrades and turn them into submarines, and thee they stop playing
piranha shooting 3k with 35k life or more if they used blood
and with gold sink you over and over

from dozens of new players having fun in small maps
we ended up with this few patrolling the zones and being the only ship in that zone

yes killing other is a part of the game
    as it is farming
if this 2 not get balanced the game is ruined

after years posting the issue on the forum, in the support , giving different solutions
at last the company implemented 1 and now byrades are liberated and again belong to the new palyes as it was supposed to be
