The arena made a cross server: Let's get serious about this game...

I've no idea if any ideas posted here have ever been used, but if PS doesn't consider anything else they should read the global chats on the US server.

I identified myself as a new player on there, but an experienced player on euro1. (I wanted to see if the US server really was as bad off as I'd heard).

It is, and this is a cut and paste from global chat:

They want to PLAY this game, not go thru the motions. Make the arena a cross server--I know we have euro players that would give them the fights of their lives.

These are really good US players, don't just forget about them.

good idea but thee is problem in that which is other serves people sleeping when were playing

 

with the time difference
the only teams from europe usa will face is the pushing teams that play all night long
but they are notorious impossible to win

but throwing usa into the mix will make pushing of the arena more difficult
as now it is done in the morning hours where the europeans sleep

and yes yes they punish them 1 week with no playing but got the destroyers any way

so not talking fictional facts but documentary with the support of the game
which for other reasons fail to punish hard enough to stop the pushing
or stop the pushing at all

but really having a cross server that will make things more interesting

 

@ prime actually, we play often at odd times. I didnt initially go to the US server, started on euro1 and found plenty of action when I logged on. Now that I also joined the us1 server I can honestly say that they would love to see other players regardless of the time--they would come. Oh man, would they come to the arena because even with the slimmer pickings on euro1 at off hours it is still far more populated than us1 is most of the time

'scuse me but i am on California (pacific) time and I've had NO probs getting arena fights on euro1--and I can beat them. I am only midway thru PS on euro1, level 35. The players that have stuck it out are levels 45+ on most of the us server that ive seen and have fully developed ships, scrolls and orders.

I mean--if you are afraid, you should be

 

so there are like 10 maxed ships on us1? on eu1 there are hundreds

you talk about a problem in arena and there is always someone that can beat anything

they can win destroyers with gladiator, then the biding was up they beat it with iron eagle ship, and then with ahab, and the last beating is a devastator

if only that was true
how nice the arena would be
if actually the destroyer is a big a garbage ship since everyone in here beats it

maybe thats why arena is dead why play arena to win destroyer when a destroyer can beat no other ship

1) I don't run a destroyer--but i get fights and I win as often as I lose. I am in Pacific time, so, yes, the middle of the night for the euro1 server

2) Why second guess what other players want? Why not give them a choice? What a concept. They may want the challenge and not ......whine

 

I like this idea, it would be alot of fun! The idea of merging maybe 1/or more servers arena systems would also give us a chance to compare our playstyle and tactics. I say why not?

 

actually the whining comes form the destroyer owners
that cry that everyone is killing them
and wanting to ban ahab from arena

and i said to them if you could win arena with gladiator and now you loose with destroyer simple solution change back to gladiator

by the way if the 2 players are equal and the use the some thigns
destroyer is going to win 8 out of 10 times
if you say no then you are a LIAR
because destroyer is be build to be the best ship

and if you count that all blood moon decks are with accounts with destroyer then the difference is getting so big meaning equal players destroyer will always win
and by equal i mean both throw the same ammunition , both use the same consumables, and have the same level of reflexes

sure if i use steel and the destroyer use stone i can win it but then we talk about oranges and apples
we talk about capabilities of the ship not what i can use and what the other will not
gee if destroyer will use stone
you can beat it with almost any ship

 

A maxed out Destroyer will always be the better option in the arena, even against The Ahab.

As long as you know how to play with it, when to use stun, items and all that...

 

Think about it, having more people in the arena on "off" hours will spread out the heavy hitters and make it more likely you will come up against a ship(s) that is a closer match to yours.

There are four time zones in the US and Canada--all within an hour of each other and just by an unofficial head count when I play on the us1 server, I'd estimate that there are around 80 active players, most of them experienced having played over a year (rosettes on their bow). All of these would be hitting the euro1 arena at about the same time, in a four hour spread, particularly weekends.

Bring us1 into the euro1 arena server if they want to come Better yet, if the company that bought Big Point does not want to develop the us1 server, transfer all us1 accounts to euro1 that want to come over--I am betting most of them will because even the "quiet" time of the euro servers is busier than much of the time on the us1.

 

It would be great to have a server merge or for usa1 accounts to be moved to eu1 but it is not as easy as it may sound.

There are many problems with doing this as a result of so few active players in usa1. For example in usa1 it would be much easier to get the destroyer of worlds than a gladiator which seems ridiculous, but it is true, if your in a top guild there will be less people competing for it and your guild can push to further speed up the process. As there are very few active players, it will be a struggle to even be able to play 150 matches let alone to win 150 to get gladiator.

This effectively means that the active or strong players from usa1 moving to eu1 will have a huge advantage as most will have destroyers, but they will also be disadvantaged as some items etc are more easily acquired when there are more people.

 

Don't see many DoWs on the us1 server because you can wait forever to get a fight in the arena--and forget getting a glad, never see them there as a 2v2 match doesnt happen but rarely. no idea why because we do try and I know there are others on but I, for one, keep getting this message that says the battle is full--then placed on the dreaded wait list.....for....hours...repeatedly. I belong to a lvel 50 guild there, but there isn't anyone there very often--just often enough for me to have acquired a paladin and guild deck though as there are so few active guilds that its not too hard to make top ten if you are a level 50 already.

The players that are left on us1 are the diehards who have been playing a long time mostly. very few noobs and most often these newbies have played on another server and come to us1 out of curiousity--then they go back to their home server and dont log back in to us1. there isnt any point.

If the arena server was a combined server it would be awesome and it cant be that difficult--there are no npcs, no boxes, and only 2-4 or 6 ships at any time in each arena. It could also be an experiment to see just how difficult/easy if might be to combine servers in zones 33-38 only. THAT would be awesome. Five zones combined servers as well as the arenas--think about it.

Even just combining the arena servers could boost BP's revenues considerably because people who were inactive would likely return to see what it was like and if BP created a few zones that were all servers, the players that already are active would get a lot more competitive.
