  1. How about bringing out a new kind of Gunpowder. You have only two types of gunpowder and all kinds of different shields.

But what would be the possible options?

  3. I got 3 options:

    The herb of Knarf (rare):

Ability: The next 50 shots does 500 increased damage.

How to get: 2 % chance to drive it up. (only found doing drive event)

Lore: ''On the bottom of the sea there grows a rare spicy herb... it's excellent in cooking, but more so in killing''

    Grey gunpowder (common):

Ability: increase damage by 5 %. Grey gunpowder does stack with other gunpowders.

How to get: ''buy it in store, 10 for 10.000 gold''

The Concoction of Gib Tniop (legendary):

Ability: Stack all gunpowder effects in the game on yourself for 5 minutes.

How to get: '' The player that have used most ''diamond'' gunpowder in a week, earns 1 Concoction of Gib Tniop. The same player can't win another one for two weeks. You can only have a maxinum of 5 in your inventory''

    Cooldown: 24 h

Lore:'' As written in the codex of item creation: To all men and women alike it is uttermost important to create something new and exciting to your customers. When your customer leaves, it's not their fault, it is yours. The people of Pirate Storm dosent like the same items over and over again just with a small change. You all may know the creator, Gib Tniop. Don't be like Gib Tniop, he will not be an inspiration. Never be like Gib Tniop. ''

  4. Big Point, lol--clever.

cute description of gun powders but lasting for five mins with that kinda punch can upset the balance of the game. in this type of game too much of an edge is an over all game liability. I've been a long term player of online games before PS, most notably Dragons of Atlantis by Kabam, which was ruined and is almost abandoned now because it became a creepy kind of race to get the newest troop or dragon every couple of weeks--and to stay even playable you had to shell out the bucks, big bucks. Had they kept things tight enough that yes, you had a brief advantage but other factors from the other player could offset that new item, (skill being one of them) then the game would not have become so topheavy and players would have stayed. DoA was a beautiful strategy game that just unraveled.

A game company will make money if they keep a certain critical mass number of players on their servers. They keep players by supporting them and keeping the game interesting but never "win-able".

  5. Point taken, but I tought of the time restriction to take that into account, so the item only showed up ''once'' a week. But I think this game needs something fresh and in many games there is powercreep, I think it is fine to keep the top strive for more. I mean, I miss it in this game. The best equipment have been the best since the beginning of the game. All the new updates give something weaker, or a new bonus item that is just the same as other items (just look at all the bloods and canontypes), exactly the same, just with different numbers. They lack to keep the game interesting equipmentwise, this is to tight. They already made this game ''pay-big-buck'' to win, why not give us something to say ''woaw'' or ''that was funny'' once in a while? The popularity of this game have fallen (I can cleary see it on forum and in the game), so that means that BP either dosent support the players or dosent keep the game interesting. This game is outdated for sure for 2016 standards. Something crazy is interesting as long as it dosent happen all the time (and makes a broken game as you say). My idea's seem a little to OP, but I would more so see some OP items once in a while than keeping the game boring as it is.

I agree with the poster, bring out some new gunpowders, but please dont make it: powder 1: + 5 % , powder 2: +10 %, powder 3: +15 % as it is now. BP should hide uncreativeness in item descriptions (like me ;)) or make something crazy or completly new.

  6. Unfortunately, games go thru a life cycle and it is apparently easier to come up with new games rather than breathe life into the ones that are in decline. You do have to be careful though in bringing in new things as I said above--you can wreck the little world you've created by giving too much power into a single item. On the other hand, the high level items that you already have in the game may lose a bit of luster with the introduction of other stuff so, why not bring them back into the game by adding an attribute to them that elevates them to their former glory?

Ships for instance--the orca and eagle were mentioned in another thread that they require the devil to go thru to get but really are not worth the effort. Give those ships something that makes them valuable, or at least competitive. I really like my euro1 piri, but for all the effort of the skulls for the ship, bulkheads and keel, I can get a dhuka much easier and the dhuka is really a better ship for most new players, at least as far as stats are concerned. I know I'll never get an orca. You can get front decks for all ships now--there is no reason to get a skull ship and those ships were one of the reasons that people played the game against each other and not just against the npc's. Playing against npcs is boring, may as well play Farmville. Playing against other players now, that is interesting. Give them a reason to use what is already in the game against other players (like PS did when they started the battlegrounds). Along that line, add new zones and new quests, combine the dang servers (at least making the arena a combined server) and give an incentive to newbie players (maybe actually matching players by level in the arena once your population starts increasing enough).

Social games decline when there is not enough critical mass (numbers) of other players, you don't really need new gadgets, give the ones you already have the value that was implied in obtaining them and advertise and promote your game. It's all numbers....numbers...numbers. The more people you have here the more you will attract--floating around aimlessly for an hour or so to try to find someone to attack isnt making it--they are leaving--and understandably so. This is a marvelous game, bummer that it is being abandoned by it's creators, or appears to be.
