At What Point Will BP Actually Care about Lag and Fix it?

This is getting ridiculous. The server controls my ship more than I do and before anyone goes on about my computer, etc. I'm a guy with 26 years experience in IT, my system is up to date, has advanced hardware and a 50G internet connection fully tested. Ping plotter results show it's the server and I know many players have stated they too have such issues in global chat.

Since this issue became worse over the past couple of months, I have stopped giving any money to this game or any other BP game. The Dev team was supposedly going to put more attention to this game so may I suggest fixing the lag would be a great start! After all, I'm sure we all would like to control our own ships instead of having the server do it.

 

That's the point they don't care about us on the US server. I lag and then watch my ship go the opposite way that i want it to. I Can't lock on a target and keep getting sunk by npc's one after another while I'm a sitting duck that can't move. This has to end or myself and plenty other players are leaving. And another thing if a player pays money for diamonds so he can play with an improved ship, and he cannot play because of the lag i do believe BP could be committing theft or fraud. BP i urge you to fix it soon.

 

No offense to anyone here but you either have 1. Bad internet 15 mbs Down and less then 5 Up (There are websites that can show you what your internet is, search on google) Or you have slow computers. Though this server does possibly have less power then the others since they don't put as much money into it since we have 1/5 the population active so its not really needed in there eyes, but i can tell you this when i upgraded my internet too 50 down and 10 up i have had NO lag since.

 

so lets see the 95% to 99% of the people playing the game complain about lag
so even if we have slow computers or slow internet connections
since we are the only people that play
the company should make the game lighter
for our poor internet connection and slow machines to play it

okey i can understand if company do nto want to care about very slow computers or bad internet connections
but company must also be realistic
if 95% of your customers have issues
you fix it for them or you will stay with 5% ohh wait you will close

it does not matter
we have the poor internet connection
just make the game lighter before you loose us all
(sarcastic because piratestorm is only lagging when i can download torrent at 1mb am a frog in game so no problem with internet)

at last listen the majority
and make a game for the majority to play
i do not say make it so light so we can play with a 14.400 modem
remember that??

but definitive the lag is on the side of the company
weak server??? limited bandwidth form the side of the company

You honestly don't understand how games like these work.....I thought about responding too your upper half comment but it seems like you have never even experienced what its like too own servers for a game especially a game like PS, one big thing for you i don't understand if you have good or bad internet for what you can download...Um not repeatable downloads...but either way they have there servers in one place (by my knowledge) at there company not spread out across your country/continent such as bigger games do so the further away you live away from them, the more time it takes for you to get that response from it. It's science and the better you know about how they place out there servers and whats there hardware like the better you know why you're lagging. Btw one big problem that doesn't help is that this game is a browser based game, which means your internet can be OUTSTANDING but you will only get as good connection as the browser allows for it.

 

Pheonix_Reborn, if you know so much, maybe you should offer your services to BP? No offense but everything you have said is inaccurate. The issues being seen by many of us have very little to do with the level of their machine. This is proven when you switch from US1 to German1. These issues that everyone are complaining about only started at the end of November. I don't think there machines suddenly were outdated overnight or lost performance overnight. I played on 25mbs down/ 5mbs up for the past couple of years. Never any issues until Winter event started (around then). Hasn't been the same since.

when i made a database for someone i start making it
made all the necessary
and then i decided to crash test it
so i put 100k records on it
then i run the forms and the computer was slower than a turtle

so i went back to re design everything
and guess what
the new version was running fast with the same 100k records on it as test

so there is something called optimizing
unfortunately programmers today are too lazy
they just write the fastest code they can think not spending any time to tweak it a bit for speed reasons.
and they just say to you get a faster machine

now a program is good if it taken zillion of space to install and a monster machine to run -(

but never the less this company decided to sell browser games so at least they should try to make one you can actually can play

 

Again this is all theory we will never know what is actually happening until someone on the inside releases this which is VERY unlikely and you're wrong that it just started people have been lagging insanely since the start of this game, it is how the game works and what the programmers do to there code, what happened is they might have put something BIG into there game that makes it like this. But people again have been lagging since 2011 (beta) and over.

 

Well I know I have provided ping plotter proof as to the server's performance and dropped packets at the server's location, not at the hops or my location. The real issue is the server's performance and possibly the network they have connected to it. Since it's is a server not as heavily populated, my suspicion is that they have cheaped out on the network provider and/or server capabilities. Since the ping plotter shows it is at the server location, only BP could answer the question and resolve it.

 

I agree. Something is definitely off and maybe code changes with enhancements has triggered negative effects, whatever the case is. I noticed a huge change at the end of November. Still having issues during specific time frames and progresses during BF events.

 

CEO of BP i still can remember your promises in 2014.
