New Arena System

It has long been debated on whether to ban DOW's from arena or not, I have a solution. In 1v1 matches it is always seemed to be i get paired up with people way stronger than me, or way weaker, I can never seem to get a fair fight. My solution, create ranking matches, this would put the strongest against the strongest, and weakest against weakest. Not only should we make the matches fairer, but the bigger players are gonna get more matches, they are older players who have bean playing far longer, so there is more of them. Thus they will get more matches. So we should make 5 tiers: Platinum(best of the best) Gold( 2nd best) Silver( 3rd best) Bronze( 4th best) Iron( weakest). Each tier would have 1 winning team, putting 4 more DOW's into the game per season, this would mean players who have a lot invested in there event boats, will want to try harder for a DOW, spending money on diamonds to buy better props to have a better chance. Not to mention after they get there DOW's they will want to build them. This will raise spending even more. Since there is a better chance at getting a DOW, players will start to play more often and more players will play, also increasing spending.

Please give this some though BigPoint, this would make a good game a lot better

Change platinum would not get dows, but would get a deck that has its own section on a dow

 

I don't think this would work at all.. it could be too easily controlled and abused, not to mention the fact that a ranking system like that would assume you're trying your hardest. A fully maxed player could take some cannons off and win a DoW in the Iron tier.

 

The DOW is not meant to be won by new players with half built ships and accounts, hence why it is the strongest ship in the game. Just because some people manipulate the arena system and put a lvl 10 sloop on their DOW team does not mean that everyone is should be given a DOW because it beats a bunch of war brigs in a arena season. The simple solution is making all members of a arena team play a higher percentage of matches in a season to be eligible to win the DOW, not some new account riding the rest of the teams coat tails to a DOW. It is not a perfect fix but it is better than what it is now, we all know the new account will be queued up (edit) and that is it.

 

I support Mac and Max point of view, this system wouldnt work and with the player population the game has now, soon all will be running around in DOW's - I think the DOW belong to the best of the best, who have played the longest, not some new player that plays nonstop for a week to get it in iron tier.

 

That's the problem though. For the most part, anyone with a DOW likely got it by (edit), not by being the "best of the best". Otherwise, the whole thing is moot since the game will be dead in another year or so. More players are leaving than new ones starting, and I know for sure I'm done with this game in another month or so once I reach level 50 as after that, the game really has nothing for me.

I havn't lost hope yet. The letter, we on the forum have received, shows that something is being done. If I were the game developer, it comes naturally to think of a ''smart'' solution to the games biggest problems to satisfy the playerbase. Therefore I think it is important to show on the forums which ideas are good or not to give inspiration

Maybe your right and the game is dying out - But I take one day at the time

 

I vote the game needs more events and that will keep people playing longer

 

I like the tiers (Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Iron). Now I don't agree on free DOWs for all. Here's my idea for top prizes for each tier. The reason for lvl requirements for each tier is that I think players that just started playing need to grow and advance in the game before having access to top items.

- Iron tier: Iron deck *has own section (3 cannons & 3 launchers) **must be atleast lvl 20 to participate.
- Bronze tier: Bronze deck *has own section but replaces Iron deck (5 cannons & 5 launchers) **must be atleast lvl 25 to participate.
- Silver tier: Silver deck *has own section but replaces Iron or Bronze deck (8 cannons & 8 launchers) **must be lvl 30 atleast to participate.
- Gold tier: Destroyer of Worlds (DOW) **must own a Silver deck and atleast lvl 35 to participate.
- Platinum tier: Platinum deck *has own section but replaces Iron, Bronze or Silver deck (12 cannons and 12 launchers) **DOW must be owned to participate in Platinum tier.
