DaBloons on US server. Unfair advantage ?

Is it just my thinking or is there something wrong with BP giving Dabloons out on the US server ? US players are not eligible to receive them, giving a distinct advantage to non-US players.
I can understand if they give them out on the other servers, but a US based server for US players, should not have them.

Yes. US players do not receive dabloons on any server. But, if you have a server that is based in the US and US players can not play on an even field, that is an unfair advantage. If US players choose to go to the other servers then they are accepting the disadvantage.

 

Just because a server is based in the US doesn't make it exclusive for US based players. It's purpose is to be a North American server to make access easier for North American players. As a Canadian, I play in that server because it is the closest to me. The issue with doubleloons and US citizens is due to a legal issue and US laws, but the game is developed for a global marketplace and they're not about to make specific coding changes for the server with the lowest population.

If you don't like the situation, don't blame the developer for following your laws but talk to your politicians. As for me, I can collect doubloons and potentially win the full moon draw because Canadian laws are in line with the developer's intentions, although I'm not holding my breath that I'll actually win.

 

I still have not figured out what US law the current doubloon system would break. There used to be a cash payout which clearly made it against US law in many places. However, the new system just gives game rewards. This is no different than betting 2,000 D's at the end of a bonus map for the chance of some game rewards. There seems to be an excess of caution on BP's part. Not sure why since there is no reason and it should be a small programming change that removes the block on US players.
BTW, it would be just as easy to block any player on the US1 server which would at least keep a level playing field here on this server. It would not require separate code for just the US servers; the same as the US player blocking code exists on all servers.
